  2. I’ve heard various things about the safety of eating raw mushrooms. So is it ok to do occasionally? I don’t fully understand what the concern is, do you?

    • Raw Intuition the Fruit Doctor does her homework so I’m confident of this research. I will check out her video. Thanks!

    • There is a naturally occurring chemical in certain mushrooms that is said to be carcinogenic, so some people say to cook them to deactivate that chemical. The YouTube channel “the fruit doctor” did a video on this showing the study that was used to show that cooking deactivates the chemical, also mentions that refrigeration also helps to deactivate it. So I feel pretty safe eating them here and there.

  3. I wonder if the mushrooms received UV exposure. UV exposed mushrooms have been clinically proven to be an effective source of Vitamin D. I’m thinking about growing some next year.
